Payroll Specialist




To facilitate omni-channel, ecommerce business initiatives, and rapid store growth the Hibbett Payroll department is growing! As the Payroll Specialist you will be in a key position and will be responsible for compiling and processing payroll data, entering and processing garnishments, entering and calculating payroll taxes in Microsoft Excel, working payroll tax issues for multi-states, maintaining payroll taxes, maintaining payroll records, and calculating payrolls for multi-states.


We are looking for a Payroll Specialist that not only excels in working payroll tax issues for multi-states, but also enjoys the challenges and opportunities a position in today’s complex retail environment offers.


  • Processing bi-weekly payroll for multi–states.
  • Computation of pay according to company policy.
  • Enter direct deposit and paycard information 
  • Enter address changes.
  • Enter federal and state tax changes.  
  • Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy. 
  • Research payroll errors and issues.
  • Review tax agency notices, rates and errors.
  • Enter corrections for payroll taxes
  • Assists with garnishments 
  • Process off-cycle payrolls
  • Assists in all areas of the payroll department as needed.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); five years payroll experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
