Overview

Here at Hibbett we are accelerating the number and pace of the projects we take on as an organization.  To manage that effectively, we are investing in our Portfolio Management Office in a number of exciting ways, including adding to our team of Project Managers.  We are looking for a Project Manager that not only excels in PM competence, but also relishes in the challenges and opportunities a position in today’s complex retail environment offers.

 

The Project Manager position will be responsible for a variety complex projects and program management assignments. This position will be responsible for directing the efforts of multiple departments to achieve clearly defined results operating within the agreed upon time, budget, and specifications of each project. This position is responsible for managing the expectations, deliverables and results of all project resources, internal and external, as related to the specific roles and activities. The Project Manager organizes, plans, and directs all project work activities; communicates project status to all roles and levels of project stakeholders; and provides specific performance feedback to the respective resource managers. The incumbent will lead large projects that have enterprise level strategic importance. Project work has high to very high risk and risk interdependencies, multiple interrelationships, and have major costs associated.   

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for one to three IT projects at any time, executing PM methodology and delivering desirable outcomes (from prepare to transition)
  • Manage multiple projects based of varying levels of complexity
  • Ensures project stays on schedule and meets the requirements established in the project scope and charter
  • Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Facilitate all reporting and documentation for the project
  • Excellent negotiation skills, ability to manage priorities
  • Ability to plan, execute, and control a project
  • Strong knowledge of business objectives
  • Consults with management and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
  • Assume personal responsibility for each project and clearly communicate the responsibility of each individual involved in the project so that all team members can understand their tasks fully and act on them efficiently
  • Continually seeks and capitalizes upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
  • Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
  • Extensive Information Technology project management experience or demonstrated project management skills – including project planning, project control and risk management

Qualifications

 

  • 4 Yr. College Degree Preferred
  • PMP preferred
  • 5 – 10+ years’ experience in IT Business Systems and/or Projects
  • Strong retail acumen or equivalent transferable skills

  • Trained project management discipline
  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills, especially without direct management responsibility
  • Excellent Organizational Skills, Prioritization, Communication
  • Strong Business Acumen with the ability to work with people from diverse functional backgrounds
  • Proven track record of project delivery
