  • Overview

    Assists the Manager of Lease Accounting in the processing of leases for new and existing store locations by performing the following duties

    Responsibilities

    Open & Sort & Distribute Mail

     

    File correspondence and invoices

     

    Review Estoppels and other Legal Documents

     

    Read Leases and determine amounts to pay

     

    Calculate year end reconciliations according to the terms of the Lease

     

    Prepare legal documents

     

    Assist with maintenance of rent database.

                                

    Send correspondence to Landlords

     

    Review and respond to default letters – review, research and determine accuracy of claim.  Prepare argument that there is no default.  Work with landlord to cure default.

     

    Review Ledgers, monthly invoices, statements of account, and histories of account for accuracy, necessary changes, overbillings, determine when payments are applied incorrectly or not received , determine amounts due.

     

    Draft solutions to disputes and communicate, negotiate with landlord.

     

    Review, research, explain  and interpret leases and other documents.

     

    Review, research, explain and interpret calculations for payment due.

     

    Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.

    Qualifications

    Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
