  • Overview

    Hibbett Sports, a nearly $1B Sporting Goods retailer, successfully launched its ecommerce business in July 2017.  Since launch, Hibbett’s digital business has grown quickly and is now approximately 8% of revenue (~$80M in annual revenue). Along with the launch of the website, Hibbett has also launched iPhone/Android apps as well as numerous Omni-channel capabilities (ship from store & bopis/ropis). Hibbett will continue to build out its digital marketing capabilities to support the growth of its online business.


    This position will own SEO for the company. They will be responsible for determining SEO Strategy, Managing SEO resources and driving increased revenue and traffic through SEO. Candidates must have a strong mastery of SEO strategy and technical execution (site architecture, content optimization, link building) and be a self-starting, metrics-driven professional


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Development of short and long-term SEO strategy and roadmap for Hibbett Sports
    • Oversee all planning and execution activities related  to ongoing projects and future-state SEO initiatives
    • Develop and implement both site-wide and category-specific SEO tactics
    • Evaluates and performs tasks to optimize for search engines and key conversions
    • Manage multiple agency resources as it relates to SEO
    • Collaborate with site merchandising, creative, marketing and product team to coordinate and execute on SEO objectives
    • Participate in team meetings to support key organizational initiatives via SEO
    • Serve as Hibbett Sports’ SEO ambassador, monitoring industry trends, and providing training and best practices to drive adoption
    • Measure and report the effectiveness of various SEO tactics and KPIs- including keyword rankings, traffic, revenue and ROI
    • Additional duties as requested





    Responsible for managing a wide network of 3rd party service providers/agencies. This also includes selecting new agency/technology partners including both replacements and additions to current SEO resources.





    • BA/BS degree required
    • 4+ years of SEO and/or digital marketing experience- retail is a plus
    • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders/customers (i.e. agency)
    • Experienced in executing keyword research, competitor analysis, on-page optimization (metadata, content, navigation, etc.) reporting and knowledgeable to technical SEO components (site architecture, URL structure, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, dynamic/static pages, etc.)
    • Proven track record of successfully implementing SEO tactics on eCommerce sites, increasing natural traffic and search revenue
    • Understanding of basic HTML, CSS and code structure as it relates to SEO
    • Knowledge of SEO industry software (BrightEdge, Screaming Frog, Botify, Webmaster tools) and web analytics (Google Analytics)
    • Ability to work independently; self-motivated & willing to take an idea and run with it
    • Highly organized & flexible
