  • Overview

    Assist the Buyer(s) in the daily activities in the Merchandising Division.




    Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.


    Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future merchandise availability and prepares market analysis reports.


    Vendor structure planning – working with buyer on what vendors to use and figuring in how to best get the merchandise shipped from these vendors in a proper and most cost efficient way.


    EOM updates – stock liquidations – looking daily at financial plans and stock levels to make sure that we are on pace to hit plan.


    Markdown projections – looking weekly at items that are not selling thru at a level that they should be and at items that our 6 month or older.


    Advertising Proposals – Working with buyer, Marketing Coordinator and Vendors on cost and creation of new advertising possibilities for the year.


    Reordering items as necessary – keeping an eye on hot items and items that we carry all year to make sure we are replenishing stores in a timely matter.


    Keep in contact with District Managers and Regional Managers on what’s going on in stores and what needs they may have or what they are seeing and hearing from stores.


    Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.


    • Manages open order log to ensure timely delivery of receipts
    • Enters PO date changes, cost changes and other order maintenance
    • Prepares and submits purchase orders
    • Prepares all sales analysis and documents needed for vendor meetings
    • Financial Plan updates- works with the buyer to forecast sales, margin and inventory
    • Manages reorders of bestselling products
    • Assortment Planning for all minor vendors (those not being managed by the assortment planner in the area)
    • Assists the buyer with vendor meetings
    • Works as the Marketing Coordinator/Other Assistants to help organize social media looks and other initiatives
    • Prepares internal RTV forms
    • Sends weekly sales reports to vendors not on edifice
    • Sits in on team store grouping meetings to help sign off on assortments, allocations, marketing efforts, etc.
    • Monitors new store communication to help with team needs outside of current markets
    • Assists with completing “final line” forms as it pertains to the assortment plans
    • Additional Analytics around Sizing, Pricing, Regional, Zone, etc.. Store Type
    • Attends all store sets as dictated by the business
    • Builds and Maintains unit plans
    • Maintains department spreadsheets-launch lists, launch sales report, new releases, miss-shipped items for vendor RTV, allocation tracker, etc….
    • Ensures on time delivery of launch products for launch dates
    • Manages in-store marketing task requests
    • Manages task needs for E-Comm


    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
