    The BI/Data Warehouse Architect is responsible for providing advanced technical skill and leadership in the design, development, control and use of enterprise data.  Perform analysis, design, data model, architecture definition, development/coding, testing, system application support, and documentation in the Business Intelligence area for Hibbett Sports.  This position will be responsible for the end to end implementation and support of Reporting, Dashboard development and Data Warehouse. The position will require all the skills required to work independently and with team members on each task. Proactively investigates opportunities to increase the value of the data to the business, and focuses on projects that improve business processes. Responsible for the integrity, security, and processing of business data and files. Work with Senior Technical Analysts and Developers to translate requirements into technical specifications. Participate in modernizing the EDW/platform by utilizing data architecture best practices. Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to build solutions that support Hibbett's reporting, analytics, data exploration and data science needs. Leads process improvement initiatives and sets best practice standards around Data Architecture.

     

    The Architect must possess expert skills in one or more data warehouse and/or business intelligence solution stacks and must also have a broad understanding of the various facets of information technology as this position will play a key role in helping define the future technical architecture of a particular application as well as the overall enterprise architecture. 

    Responsibilities

    • Designs, builds and maintains data warehouse solutions to support Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting projects using Informatica, SSIS and Microsoft SQL Server
    • Provides expertise and architectural leadership in the areas of Data Governance, Master Data Management, Analytics, Data Warehousing, Scorecards, Dashboards, Business Performance Monitoring and Data Mining
    • Defines policies, procedures, and governance for the data warehouse/platform that is aligned with the overall BI strategy. Ensures consistent use of data architecture standards.
    • Designs and builds conceptual, logical and physical dimensional data models and third normal form artifacts.
    • Supports new data development, ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure. Develops processes for capturing and maintaining metadata from all data warehousing components
    • Translates user requirements into technical architecture vision and implementation plan. Provide hands-on development of solutions; and supports the analysis and discovery processes
    • Recommends supplemental data warehouse technologies if needed
    • Serves as Subject Matter Expert in data warehouse concepts (star schema, snowflake schemas, and normalized and de-normalized data models). Analyzes performance statistics and recommend improvements
    • Provides support for IT architecture projects as applicable, with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope. Responsible for planning, tracking, and deliverables as defined
    • Works with internal business and IT leaders to define scope, project timeline, deliverables and priorities on individual and competing projects or business strategies.
    • Contributes to the career growth and mentorship of the members of the Data Warehouse Team
    • Lead data warehouse projects and is responsible for the overall technical solution meeting the Business Intelligence needs of the business customers
    • Lead support of all reporting, dashboard and data warehousing systems and participate in on-call rotation
    • Keep close, direct contact with key end-user representatives to ensure technologies are providing valuable information-sharing capabilities to customers

    Qualifications

    • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related field
    • Requires 7+ years of experience in development within a Business Intelligence/ enterprise data warehouse environment
    • Requires 7+ years of working experience with Relational Databases
    • Requires 7+ years of experience with SQL, Stored procedures, Functions and query writing
    • Requires 5 years of experience with Data Modeling and tools (Erwin preferred)
    • Requires 5 years of experience with Dimensional modeling and implementing Cubes
    • Desired to have basic programming skills and familiarity with various scripting languages
    • Requires 5 years of experience with Reporting Software (preferably Microstrategy)
    • Familiar with Dashboard technology and delivering dashboards and reports via mobile applications
    • Familiar with Data Architecture and Master Data Management principles
    • Familiar with Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence tools
    • Familiarity with Big Data software and concepts
    • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
    • Prior experience is a Retail organization is preferred
